And Why a Bay Area Car Service Just Makes Sense

Thanks to the rise in smartphone use by people of all ages, there has also been a surge in popularity for app-based transportation services like Uber and Lyft. While on the surface they sound like a super convenient way to grab a ride to the bar after work or to your house if you’ve had a few too many drinks at the bar. However, it’s not always the best option for your transportation needs. A prime example is during the upcoming Super Bowl in February.

There are actually quite a few reasons why you should go with a Bay Area car service over Uber any day, but on Super Bowl Sunday you should definitely forgo their app-based service.

Unfamiliar Faces

When you use Uber, you will never know who is going to be picking you up. In a large area like the Bay Area, there will be a large number of Uber drivers on the road. That number will increase exponentially during major events like concerts and the upcoming Super Bowl. This means the chances are extremely slim that you will get picked up by the same person that dropped you off. When you’re putting your safety in the hands of someone else, it’s nice to recognize that person. When you use a car service like Angel Limos on a regular basis, you get to know the drivers on a first name basis. That sense of camaraderie goes a long way in regards to feeling safe and secure.

“Peak” Pricing

One of the biggest reasons why you shouldn’t use Uber for your Super Bowl game day transportation is the fact that they increase their rates during “peak” times. This can be during major events like concerts, known closing times of bars and nightclubs, and holidays. While a quick trip up the block at 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon may not set you back that much, if you try the same distance before, during, or after the Super Bowl, it’s very likely that you’ll end up paying several times the standard rate. Also, if you’re not paying attention when reserving the ride, you may not even find out about how high the charge was until you receive your credit/debit card statement.

Lack of Vehicle Options

If you’re planning on taking a bunch of friends along for the ride, you may end up having to take more than one car. That will definitely add up, especially with their surge pricing. It’s not likely that Uber will have the type of vehicle available to accommodate a large group of people. The majority of their vehicles will be sedans and SUVs that can only carry up to 4 passengers. When you have a large group going together it just makes sense to use a Bay Area car service like Angel Limos that can offer a party bus or shuttle van to get you there.

Lack of Safety

As we’ve mentioned above, it can be daunting to put your safety in the hands of a complete stranger. Using a car service on a regular basis will help you get to know who’s driving you and in turn ease your mind when riding with them. However, you don’t have that luxury with Uber. It seems there is always something on the news about a new frightening attack on passengers by Uber drivers. When anyone can sign up to become a driver, there are bound to be some bad apples. The drivers with Angel Limos are put through rigorous testing, background checks, and safety standards before they’re ever allowed on the road. Uber can’t make that same promise.

After you’ve bought your tickets to Super Bowl 50, your next step should be considering how to get there. Since there are going to be a lot of people looking for a ride to the game just like you, it’s best to get started as soon as possible. Don’t wait until the last minute and use Uber with all these doubts and fears in your head. Plan ahead instead and reserve a Bay Area car service for your game day transportation. Arrive safely AND in style before celebrating the 50th Super Bowl in NFL history!
