Putting Together the Perfect Event

Make Your Event One to Remember

Corporate Events to RememberA few nights a year, companies look to put on an event to bring their employees together. These events can be put together to celebrate success in their industry or to honor those employees that have helped get them to where they are today. There is more to putting on a fun and successful event than ordering food and getting everyone to show up. You want these events to be something everyone will remember for years to come. Give your colleagues something to talk about by the water cooler for months after the event by going all out with planning this event.

If you have an event coming up that you want everyone to remember, consider these options during your planning process.

Entertainment

While a jazz band or orchestra is perfect for providing background noise while everyone socializes and networks, you should also consider providing some form of entertainment.

If you really want everyone to remember this event, give them a photo booth or video booth. They’ll be able to let loose, be creative, and have photographic evidence of just how much fun they had while attending this event. Put up a photo wall of candid shots of everyone in the company with names so people that normally don’t interact at work will know who they’re dancing next to when the music starts.

Another fun form of entertainment is professional dancers. These can be urban street dancers, ballroom dancers, or even ballet dancers. You can find them in duos or large groups that can put on a show and they can also involve attendees by drawing them out on the floor to dance with them.

Themes

A new trend in corporate events is planning them around a particular theme. Putting a theme to the event, you can generate excitement in all those attending as well as a desire to participate. This doesn’t necessarily mean you demand everyone dress up in costume, but adults can have a lot of fun stepping out of their everyday roles by letting loose.

Take a cue from P. Diddy and put together a white party. Require everyone to wear all white, decorate the entire venue in white, and serve drinks and food that adhere to that color scheme.

A really fun theme idea is to choose a decade with a very recognizable fashion sense like “The Roaring 20s” or “The Neon 80s”. Ask that everyone dress up according to the decade, play music from that era, and you could even have a contest for the person that portrayed the theme the best. Everyone loves a contest!

Transportation

A lot of companies don’t put enough focus on providing transportation for their employees on the night of an event. However, a lot of these people plan on having a few drinks, and if you give them a party bus to be sent home in, you don’t have to worry about them there safely.

If you’ve decided to have an event outside of their normal stomping grounds, you could have all those attending picked up from their hotel in a luxury limousine to bring them to the venue. Your employees will feel like they’re riding in true VIP style and feel as though they really matter to the company.

Now that you have a few good ideas for your upcoming corporate event, put some of them to good use and get ready to have fun. Your employees will enjoy themselves, and happy employees lead to a happy work environment. Show them the appreciation they deserve and put on an event they’ll never forget.
