Celebrate the Luck of the Irish in San Francisco
Ahhh, St. Patrick’s Day: the time of year where everyone continues the childhood tradition of pinching anyone you see that had the bad luck of forgetting to wear green. Every year on March 17th, except on rare occasions when it happens to fall during Holy Week, people dig way down deep into their genealogy to proclaim themselves Irish and join in on the festivities. Although the day was originally intended to be a religious day of feasting in honor of the patron saint of Ireland, it has since evolved into a day of embracing and celebrating the Irish culture. The St. Paddy’s Day festivities of today usually include parades, music and dancing, Irish cuisine, and copious amounts of the color green.
