Don’t Lose Your Productivity!

Stay ProductiveSometimes it’s just nice to get out of the office for a while. However, it has does have its disadvantages. Trying to stay productive while out of the office can be difficult. The possibility of becoming distracted increases quite a bit and it can be hard to stay focused. Usually when people are in their office, it’s much easier for them to get into “work mode” and stay there. While out of the office, though, it can be hard to remember that you have work that needs to be done.

If you’re one of these lucky few, we’ve put together some tips to help you stay on top of that work while away from the office.

Get a Smartphone

Seeing as how we are well into the 21st century, it’s hard to believe that there would be any adult without the luxury of a smartphone. However, there are still quite a few people that haven’t seen the benefit of having a smartphone on them at all times. This is especially true when it comes to working. With a smartphone, you have instant access to all of your important work emails as well as any files thanks to apps like Dropbox.

There are plenty of other apps available that can help you stay productive while out of the office as well, like Audio Memos. This great app gives the user the ability to record notes, memos, and meetings as well as being able to send those recordings to colleagues or supervisors via email or Dropbox. Another great app that can keep you connected to the job is Roambi Analytics. With this app, you’re able to view your company’s data in easy-to-read graphs and charts no matter where you are. You may also be surprised to know that there are apps that can allow you to keep up with expense reports and bill clients like Expensify and Square.

With a smartphone loaded up with some of these useful apps, you could feasibly stay out of the office for days at a time and still be able to stay on top of your job. If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, now is the right time. You can choose from an Android-based, Windows or Blackberry, and even the ever-popular iPhone. No matter which one you choose, they all have the potential to keep you connected to your job with little effort.

Make a List

When you aren’t at work in front of your calendar, desk, and computer, it can be difficult to remember everything you need to get done. This is why it’s so important to make a list before you even leave the workplace. Make sure this list includes any and every task you would normally need to complete while in the office so you don’t forget anything. Once you’re out and about, make sure to consult this list as often as possible. Mark off everything you complete the moment you complete it so you’ll know when you can move on to the next item.

Use a Car Service

While this may not seem like something that will help you stay on top of work while out of the office, you might be surprised. When you use a car service, you’re able to sit in the back while you’re driven around. Instead of doing the driving yourself, you’re able to finish up necessary work tasks and make business calls in the safety of the backseat. The driver will be able to make sure you arrive to your destinations on time, leaving you one less thing to worry about.

Having a list to refer to when you’re away from the office as well as having a smartphone loaded with the latest and greatest in work-related apps will ensure you’re able to stay focused on the tasks at hand. You don’t have to lose your motivation and productivity just because you aren’t in the office, use these tips to keep you on top of work no matter where you are.
