Little Tips for Big Boosts Natural Ways to Boost Energy For Your Business Trip

As an executive, you're probably trying to juggle many duties. Consistently handling flight delays, last minute travel changes, or even how long it takes to go from one place to another can take a toll on you. While you may not be able to control your time during executive travel, you can control how much energy you have during executive travel.

If taking time to rest and unwind after a long flight is not an option for you, find a way to get refreshed.

Quick Energy Boost

Here are some quick and easy ways to give you a boost of energy:

  • Keep a stash of disposable facial wipes. You'd be surprised at how it can instantly wake you up.
  • Change an item of clothing. Pick something that can easily fit into your carry on, that looks professional and won't get easily wrinkled. Even something like a tie can instantly brighten your mood. Try changing into a new pair of socks halfway through the day, and you'll feel refreshed and more comfortable.
  • Eat a snack.
  • Call someone, like your friend or a loved one. You'd be surprised at how a quick conversation can make you feel better
  • Take a quick walk, if possible.
  • Listen to upbeat music on the way to your business meeting.
  • Do some quick stretches once you get off the plane, or however you're traveling.

While short term boosts can help with energy levels, you'd want to aim for more long term changes. Small bursts of energy can only help so much.

Since you're constantly on the go, long term habits can help you sustain energy levels for longer. The main ways are as simple as implementing a better diet, and exercising.

How to Stay in Shape on the Road

How do you exercise if you're constantly on the go? While it may be a valid reason, there are always ways to incorporate exercise into your routine. You don't don't have to work out for a hour at a time, even finding 15 minutes here and there on a daily basis will make a difference.

A tip to think about is to book yourself into a hotel room that has a gym. That way you don't have any excuses about not having exercise as your disposal. If this is too hard to do, consider finding types of exercise that uses minimal equipment. Yoga is great in that you only really need a mat (or a towel from your hotel room), and a DVD to follow along. There are many resources out there that features 15 minute routines you can do in the comfort of your home or hotel.

Don't set specific times when you exercise. Squeeze it in whenever you can. Got an hour before that important meeting? Why not do 15 minutes of yoga and head to it awake and refreshed?

Eating Healthy Helps

Diet is another obvious way to help boost energy levels. Sure, it's hard eating on the go, but there are ways you can eat healthier. First, bring snacks along with you. If you are really and need something to hold you over until your next meal, eat one of those instead. When you're hungry, you don't make informed choices.

A quick way to change your diet is to drink lots of water. Having too many caffeinated or alcoholic drinks can disrupt your sleeping routines. Sure, a drink every once in a while is ok, but don't make a daily habit.

Energy boosts or long term changes can help increase your energy levels greatly. Instead of worrying about whether or not you will fall asleep at the next meeting, you can now focus on rocking your clients' worlds.
