Spend Some Time With Mom on Sunday
Your mother has sacrificed so much for you, so it should only be right that you take her out for Mother’s Day and show her just how much she means to you.
Mother’s Day falls on May 11th this year which is right around the corner.
You should start planning now the different ways to let her know you love her.
Don’t settle for just a card and some candy.
When it comes to your mother, she deserves more than that.
Lucky for you, San Francisco is filled with many different ways to show your mother a good time.
No matter what she likes, you are bound to find something to make everyone happy on this special day.
Art and Culture
San Francisco is chock full of museums and art exhibits.
If your mother is the type that would love this sort of thing, you won’t be lacking any options to choose from.
The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco has two different art exhibits being presented on Mother’s Day. Take your mother to see the “Balenciaga and Spain” exhibit at the de Young Museum in the morning, and in the afternoon you can use the same ticket to see the “Pulp Fashion: The Art of Isabelle de Borchgrave” at the Legion of Honor.
For a more unique experience, check out the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. They are holding a “Wine and Dine Tour” after they close their doors to the public. Not only would you and your mother be able to enjoy an incredible three-course meal put together by renowned chef Loretta Keller, you would also receive a private tour of the Academy.
Music is, in itself, a culture. If your mother is one of the many that loves classical music, you can take her to see the San Francisco Symphony perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, the Resurrection. With the solos done by mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke and conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, this Grammy award winning symphony will be sure to please even the most discerning of musical tastes.
Outdoor Fun
If outdoor adventure is what your mother enjoys, the Bay Area has several exciting excursions to take her on for Mother’s Day.
A day out on a yacht with beautiful views of the city from the San Francisco Bay is a beautiful and relaxing way to spend this day with your mom. You and your mother can enjoy a succulent dinner at one of the yacht clubs along with a wine tasting at Treasure Island Winery. The day would end on a high note with a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates for the woman that brought you into the world.
Should you both be true adventurers looking for an unconventional way to spend the day, then Golden Gate Helicopters is the best option. They’re having a “Not your mother’s Mother’s Day outing” promotion which will include an hour long tour of the Bay Area as well as a rose and champagne.
Make Her Laugh
At the Punch Line Comedy Club, the San Francisco Comedy Showcase is put on every Sunday. For Mother’s Day, moms get in free. Since the show starts at 8pm, this is a perfect way to end this amazing day.
Your mother brought you into this world with love, and there is no better way to show her how much you appreciate her than by taking her out on the town. By picking more than just one of the above options, you will ensure that you and your mom have an exciting and fun-filled day that both of you will remember for years to come.
