Your Giants Baseball Update
There is something about loading up the car with your friends, family, and kids and heading down to the ball field to watch an exciting game of baseball.
There is a reason baseball is considered America’s favorite pastime and thousands of people will head out each day a game is held to experience the thrill of the atmosphere they can only experience in the stands of a baseball game.
San Francisco Giant’s fans are no different. They have good reason to be as loyal as they are considering the fact that the Giants have had more wins out of any other American baseball team and have won seven World Series Championships.
Current Season
This longstanding baseball team is currently in 1st place in the NL Western Division and is currently boasting 42 wins thus far. Out of their four game run against the St. Louis Cardinals from May 29th through June 1st, they won three with the final game being a blowout scoring 8 to the Cardinals’ 0. In fact, they’re on a five game winning streak having won two against the Cincinnati Reds and all three of their games against the New York Mets. Loyal fans will come out to see if they can keep up with this streak over their upcoming games against the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies this month.
Because of the amazing contributions given by most players on the team, it’s almost impossible to single out any one player as the reason for this amazing season they’re having. In the most recent game against the New York Mets, there were four different players that substituted the usual positions on the field. Pitcher Tim Lincecum allowed only as many hits as he did strike outs (6) and only walked one in six innings.
Another Kind of Ball Game
After the game, you and your friends may be a little too hyped up to go home. In this case, head over to one of the many awesome pool halls to shoot a set of balls around the table and grab a beer to end the day on a high note.
Pool halls don’t always have to be dive bars with a cloud of smoke hanging over all the tables. In fact, if you’re looking for a classy place to get a tasty cocktail or quality beer, head over to Slate Bar. If you’re there on a Thursday night, you and your party will be able to entertain each other with karaoke by DJ Purple. Even the ladies will be pleased with the sophisticated ambiance offered up by this clean and modern bar.
For the die-hard pool shark, Legend Billiards has fantastic standard tables as well as snooker tables. This place is a bit smaller than some of the other pool halls offered up by the city, but the cozy feel will just make you not want to leave.
Considered to be one of the best pool halls in San Francisco, Fillmore Billiards is clean with excellently maintained tables complimented by super friendly service. While you’re there, check out the Korean pool tables and watch a classic game of Korean Four Ball (SaGu).
Don’t let the great day out at the ballpark end once the game is over. Take your friends out for a competitive game of pool at one of the different styled pool halls around the Bay Area and give the term “game day” a whole new meaning.
