Elegant Ideas for Your Fall Wedding
There is something about the crisp autumn air that makes fall a perfect time for a wedding. The leaves are turning, making the landscape look like a water color painting. You don’t have to worry about the bugs that plague summer weddings and the humidity is virtually nonexistent so you can rest assured your hair will stay in top notch condition. Since fall isn’t considered to be “wedding season”, you also don’t have to worry about fighting over the best venues and caterers.
If you have an autumn wedding coming up, you may want to consider using some of these elegant ideas and add a touch of class to your nuptials.
Lovely Lighting
While not necessarily important for daytime weddings, the lighting is an important aspect of weddings that is often forgotten. While most venues have plenty of lighting, it’s often harsh and unflattering and not exactly conducive to a classy wedding. You can set the theme of a wedding by choosing the right lighting scheme.
If you’re having a late afternoon wedding with plans of having your reception at night, you open yourself up to a wide variety of lighting options. Uplighting has become increasingly popular over the years, especially using the color theme of your wedding. You can even keep from overloading your guests with your color of choice by keeping everything else white or a neutral color.
Maybe you’re looking to put together a rustic outdoor ceremony at dusk. You can meld the autumn and rustic theme together by placing votive candles in mason jars and have them lining the aisle. They would not only light your path to the man of your dreams, but your guests would also be treated to a beautiful visage of the bride in flickering candlelight.
Colors of the Season
While you may think of the colors of changing leaves when you think of fall, they don’t necessarily have to be the theme off your wedding. While reds and oranges are certainly beautiful, the hot colors for this fall wedding season tend to lean in a different direction.
Jewel toned colors are all the rage this fall. Think of deep sapphire blue, rich ruby red, and bright citrine green. The dark sapphire blue and rich red would look stunning against the white and ivory of your dress, so in addition to using them in your wedding decorations, you could also use it as a sash or belt on your dress to tie everything in together.
Fabulous Fabrics
This part actually has nothing to do with your wedding dress. You can choose whichever fabric you so desire for the dress you’re going to walk down the aisle in. This, rather, is more about the fabrics you’re going to use for tables, chairs, and aisle runners. The hot trend in wedding fabrics is texture. It’s all about texture this year. Be creative in your use of fabrics, layer soft with rough, like silk on top of taffeta.
Don’t Forget the Transportation
One of the things often left to the very end of wedding planning is transportation. This is especially important if you’re planning on having your reception at a different location than your ceremony. Arrange for a party bus to carry your guests from one venue to the next, especially if you plan on having an open bar at your reception. This way you can make sure everyone has the chance to get home safely. The best thing about wedding transportation is that you can’t go wrong with your selection no matter what season it is.
Every season is the right season for love. Make your wedding this fall a beautiful and classy affair by using your imagination along with some of these elegant ideas.
