Everything You Need to Know About the Upcoming Home Games

49ers footballYou can feel it in the air, the anticipation of an exciting season of NFL football. People have been waiting impatiently for the chance to see their favorite team play with hopes of seeing them take it all the way to the Super Bowl. Thankfully all you football fans out there don’t have to wait much longer! Preseason games are just around the corner with the regular season games starting in September.

The first game of the 2014 regular NFL season starts out with the Green Bay Packers vs the Seattle Seahawks on September 4th, but that’s not important. What is important is that the San Francisco 49ers will play their first regular season game on September 7th against the Cowboys on their turf. However, if you’re not able to get out of state to catch a game, there are plenty of home games for you to take in.

Upcoming Home Games

For those diehard 49ers fans that just don’t have the time to travel out of state to catch one of the many away games, there are eight home games to watch.

The first home game of the 2014 season falls on Sunday, September 14th. Our boys in scarlet and gold will be tossing the pigskin around with the Chicago Bears. These two teams have come head to head more than 60 times, with the 49ers having the upper hand. They’ve won 32 games to the Chicago Bears’ 29. Their second home game will be against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 28th.

On October 5th the 49ers will take on the Kansas City Chiefs at home, and a month later on November 2nd, they’ll face the St. Louis Rams. There are two more home games in November, with one on the 23rd against the Washington Redskins. The next November home game will be against the Seattle Seahawks on November 27th. Fans of the 49ers may still be a little sensitive against the Seahawks given that their team colors were used in the new BART trains instead of the 49ers colors. One fan was so upset he even started a Change.org petition to have the colors changed. This could be just what the 49ers need to motivate them towards a win in this upcoming home game against the Seahawks.

The last two home games of the season will be played in December. They’ll face the San Diego Chargers on December 20th and the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, December 28th. With any luck, the 49ers will get a chance to play in the Super Bowl XLIX on February 1st, 2015.

Now Let’s Get a Beer

Beer and football go hand in hand. After an exciting football game, that hopefully the 49ers won, you and your friends may want to head out for a cold one. You won’t have to go too far, as one of the best steak house and pubs will be right there at Levi’s Stadium. Surely you’ll have worked up quite the appetite after cheering for your team, so head over to the Bourbon Steak & Pub and be treated to some of the best steaks or pub fare the city has to offer. You’ll also be able to wash it down with a quality cold brew.

Although the 49ers have tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the second most Super Bowl wins with 5, they haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1994. Hopefully this will be their year, so get your friends and family together and take in a game at the brand new Levi’s Stadium this year.
