How to Make Sure She Never Calls You Back
Navigating the dating world can be confusing at best. Gone are the days of archaic dating rules. Now it’s perfectly fine for the woman to make the first move and even going Dutch isn’t completely unheard of. Improved gender equality has seen these dating rules change and adapt over the years, so now things that were once taboo might just be the preference of the one you’re hoping to impress.
However, this doesn’t mean that anything goes when it comes to planning the perfect date night. There are still quite a few ways you can ruin a perfectly good evening.
Forgetting to Make Reservations
Usually when you’re planning a first date, or even a second or third date, you want to make the best possible impression. This usually means you try to pick the best (and often most expensive) restaurant in town. While this is definitely a smart move, your hopes can be dashed come the night in question if you’ve forgotten to call ahead and make a reservation.
Date nights usually fall on Friday or Saturday nights because of work schedules. However, this also tends to be the preferred night out for families and friends, too. This means that when you roll up to the restaurant expecting to be seated immediately, your heart will sink when you see a line out the door. This is especially true if you’ve forgotten to make a reservation. With a reservation, no matter how long that line is, you’ll be seated immediately.
Without a reservation, you’ll be forced to either stand around awkwardly while trying to make small talk or be forced to go elsewhere. Since most of the other nice restaurants will be in the same situation, you may be forced to stop at a fast food or fast-casual restaurant automatically ruining your chances of making a good first impression.
Self-Centered Conversation
Now, we all know that the point of a first date is to get to know the other person. How can you expect to do that if all you do is talk about yourself? While you may think your date is interested in hearing every last detail of your Star Wars obsession, just the basics would have certainly sufficed. You also don’t want to send her away at the end of the night thinking you don’t have room for her in your life since you couldn’t even give her room to talk about herself!
If your goal of the evening is to make sure she/he doesn’t call you back once the date is over, then, by all means, don’t allow them to get a word in edgewise throughout the night. Talk about yourself and never ask questions about them and you can guarantee this date night will go down in flames.
Neglecting Car Service
If this is your very first date while in high school, it may be acceptable to drive yourself. Just make sure you clean out all the garbage from the floor board and behind the seats before picking up your date. However, if you’re an adult looking for the love of your life, the best way to make a good first impression is to hire a car service.
If you don’t take advantage of a Bay Area car service, you may become victim of the aggravation that is hailing a cab in the city. It always seems like they’re there when you don’t need one and never around when you do. A perfectly good date night could be ruined by neglecting to go the extra mile for this special event.
Date nights can be the start of a beautiful relationship, so why wouldn’t you want to make every effort to ensure it’s a good one? If you don’t want to ruin a perfectly good opportunity to impress “The One”, be sure to make reservations, give them a chance to talk about themselves, and go all out by reserving a car service. Even if they aren’t meant to be your eternal soulmate, you will definitely have made a lasting first impression!
